4th of July project

The second part(out of 4) of my assignment for Craft Warehouse was to do a layout and 2 cards for fourth of July. The first card that I did I used the die cut machine and cut out the star border and then embossed each star in alternating colors. Then to top in off, I just added a few embellishments.

The second card that I did I used Tim Holtz fragments to make a four and made it stand out by using all of the different pattered papers that I had. I also cut out the circle to go over the top and then added ties to two of the corners for added embellishments. I really love how this turned out!

I decided to do a 6X12 layout. I had a lot of fun with this using a picture of the boys from their first fourth of July last year. (You can't read their shirts very well but they say "Mommy's little firecracker 08") For the bottom border I twisted together some red/white/blue different ribbons. I also embossed the "July" and used red crackle paint for the "4th." Then it was just some edge distressing and tearing.

First Assignment for Craft Warehouse

The first part of my assignment was to create a clock using the new Making Memories wedding line. I painted the chipboard numbers white and then stamped and embossed them using silver Zing. I added a picture of my husband and I from our wedding and then added some embellishments and the title: Always and Forever.

Beach Layout

This layout is using the same line of paper as the beach mini album by Fancy Pants Designs. I cut the wave out of one of the papers and added glossy accents to it to make it look shiny like water. I also stamped the smaller waves, popped up the middle, added glossy accents and created a border out of them. I love this picture of the boys in their first swimming trunks. This picture was taken last year on their first beach trip.

BIG NEWS!!!

Two exciting things happened over the last couple of days....the first one was that Craft Warehouse offered me a job as an independent contractor!!! I am so happy! I will be making projects for them using scrapbook materials to display around the store. I can't wait to get started. The second thing was that after scrapbook club on Thursday, they asked if they could use the beach mini album and a layout that I had brought to share for display right now. Of course I said YES! and today when I went to the make n' take, I took pictures of my first displayed items.

Beach Mini Album

I am so excited that I finished my new mixed media mini album by fancy pants. There was a combination of acrylic, chipboard and felt pages. It was a lot of fun and it is one of my favorite projects that I have done.
On the front page I added three chipboard circles and put paper over them. Then I added "by the" in white sticker letters and "sea" on the circles with Thickers.

This is my favorite page...I used the new fiskars border punch and cut little slits in it to put it around the circle.(the picture is under the paper) I cut the paper diagonally and then added eyelets and string to make it look like it was holding it together.

The page on the left: The waves on the paper have glossy accents over them, I used alcohol ink of the fish, and crackle paint on the bubbles, I also connected the two journaling papers with eyelets and string.
The page on the right: On the white frame I added white crackle paint around the edges, and used alcohol ink on the smaller frame. I used distress stickles on the word 'chasing' and distress ink on the word 'seagulls'

One of the acrylic pages I took their transparency papers with the sun and glued it on the page. I really liked the grid look the page already had over the next page so I didn't want to add any pictures on the page to cover it up, but I didn't want to leave it with just the grid design. I loved how it turned out, and the sun ends up highlighting my husband.

The page on the right: I love this picture of my husband playing in the water with the boys. I inked the ribbon to make it brown and distressed all the edges of the paper.

The page on the left: The orange paper has stripes radiating from it and on the darker ones I added glossy accents, I also put eyelets through the paper and tied sting through it and then weaved thicker string around it.
The page on the right: The boys didn't like the pool that much, so we only got a few pictures. I added letters that I painted with white crackle paint and then inked with blue distress ink, and then added distress stickles to the fish.

The page on the left: The was the last acrylic page and I decided to try and use a Tim Holtz mask on it. I had to use the Staz On ink and I applied it with an ink blending tool. Then I used brown alcohol ink all over the page and then added the paper on the back. I REALLY love how this page turned out. To finish it I painted the letters with white crackle paint, and added spinners to the clock for handles.

On the back page I used white sticker letter to add Lincoln City and June 2009

Beach Trip

I didn't think we were going to make it to the beach this year, but we got away for 3 days at the begining of June. We went to Lincoln City and had a great time. The boys were just getting over colds, but they didn't let that stop them from having fun. Here are a couple of my favorite pictures...
