Splash Zone

This is a BoBunny mini album that I did when I tried out for their design team. (I didn't make it, but I love how this album turned out) It was using their summer line, and I had the perfect pictures of the boys playing in the sprinklers!

This post is especially for Olive who reminded me that I promised that I was going to start posting again, and haven't. Thanks for reminding me and I hope you enjoy! I will try and keep you updated.

I'm back!

I know it has been a LONG time since I last posted. A lot of things have happened since then. I now create all the make n' takes for the Gresham Craft Warehouse! I love doing it, especially when I hear that people love what they are making. I am going to update my blog on a more regular basis, and over the next couple weeks I am going to show some of the projects I have completed over the last couple months. Stay tuned!

Christmas Layout

I know this is a little late, but this was a layout that I did for Craft Warehouse using the Cricut. I saw that little yellow bicycle has a Christmas line border with the numbers 1-25. I loved the look of it, but they didn't carry it at Craft Warehouse. So....after picking a line of paper to use, Cosmo Cricket, I got some glitter Cardstock that matched. I used the Cricut to cut out the numbers in different colors and sizes. I think it turned out pretty well. I also used the cricut to cut out the title "25 days of Christmas" and the little and big circle. (one around the 25 in the title and one around the picture)

I made the layout about 25 traditions that we do as a family leading up to Christmas. I also used a snowflake stamp and Versa Mark ink to make the background. This is one of my favorite layouts that I have done. I also got to use the recent Christmas picture of the boys' when they are all dressed up. The look so old!

(Sorry about the little glare on the picture)

Valentine's Mini Album

This was a mini album I did for Valentines day using mostly the Pink Paislee line. (there is a little Bo Bunny paper mixed it too!) I had a lot of fun working with all of these items. The tabs of the front spell "LOVE" and on the back says "XOXO" There is a lot of ribbon on the rings along with chipboard keys that I inked and stamped over, a fragment with the "S.W.A.K" and then a clear heart with the writing stamped on it.
The circle on the cover is a stamp that I inked and embossed, and then took a die cut from the collection and popped it up in the center. I added a handle to the cover and tied a heart lock and key around it. I decided to tittle the album "My Future Heartbreakers."

On the inside cover I added some more inked keys and then used a new ledger stamp and punch to add some journaling. Last year for Valentines Day we got the boys two shirts. The first one says "I'm the man of your dreams" and the second one says "heart breaker." So this album is a photo shoot we did in both of those shirts.
I cut out the heart that says "be mine", added glossy accents to it and then popped it up over the ribbon.
The pink paislee line comes with a few fabric swatches I cut out a piece and wrapped it around a button at the top of the picture. Then I used another piece for the background of the die cut at the bottom of the page.
I love the look of the cursive writing stamp, and I used it on the acrylic hearts using Staz-On ink. I also used it on cream cardstock and used it for the background of the picture.

I used another piece of fabric and sewed one side and pulled it together to make a flower, and added a brad to the middle. I then placed it on a die cut piece with wording around it. Since the background paper has words all over it, I added glossy accents to some of the words to help them stand out.
I love these spinners, and this one was perfect for a Valentine's mini album. If I put it on a page it would take up almost the whole thing, so instead I punched holes and made it an extra page inside the album!

I used Tim Holtz heart and wings and then painted them with crackle paint. I added a Heidi Swapp clock and spinners to finish the page. I love how the heart and wings matches his shirt! I also used the core'dinations paper, embossed it, then sanded it to show the red underneath. It makes a perfect background for the picture.

SNOW!

Yesterday we had a few hours of surprise snow! As soon as the kids got up for nap we took them outside. Last year they DID NOT like the snow at all, but this year they enjoyed it! They even had a snowball fight with Dad. I was so excited, I wish it would have lasted a little bit longer. We finished the night with some hot chocolate! It was perfect!

Turkey Bowl Frame

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I have been really busy creating projects for Craft Warehouse and I keep forgetting to take pictures before I turn them in! I will try and do a better job. This is a frame I did with a 4 square wood insert. It is of the "Turkey Bowl." Every year my husband and all of his friends get together Thanksgiving morning and play tackle football. They have had many memorable moments since they started in 2004, and I am always on the sidelines taking pictures. I used the Cosmo Cricket - Nutmeg line. All of the words around the frame were cut with the cricut!

"boy"friend album

I was asked to make the Bo Bunny word album - friend. After talking about it we decided to make it "boy"friend and use it to tell the story of my husband and I while we were dating. I tried to get pictures that showed us through all 7 years of dating from our 1 year anniversary to our engagement pictures. It was so fun to look through all of the pictures and look back at our relationship. We were only 16 when we got together and I can't believe how young we looked.

This was our 1 year anniversary. I used the Cosmo Cricket - Earth Love line. I tried to do a little more journaling to tell the story of us.

I did a 2 page title "You'll always be my baby." I used thickers and chipboard letters (that I painted pink). The"baby" came off of the sticker sheet and I popped them up. I also cut out the leaves to use as a border along the bottom of both pages.

The picture of the left is one of my favorite pictures of us. It was taken while we were dancing at a wedding right before he left to go down to OSU. We did a year of long distance relationship, and it was SO hard, but we made it through. Behind the picture I cut out squares of card stock and patterned paper and distressed the edges of the patterned paper.
On the right, I used the Heidi Swapp mirrors and added some rub-ons.

I had to do a page of us together at OSU. After that one year, I went and joined him down there and we had a blast going to football games, if fact, we never missed one. I added a clipboard and made a couple small pages of journaling. I used grungeboard letters and numbers and inked them orange.

I used a lot of die cut circles through out this album, it is one of my favorite things to highlight pictures. I also die cut the bird in chipboard and patterned paper.

This was one of our engagement pictures. I wrote a little message to him on this page and added "soul mates" in thickers, and another mirror, but this time with a sticker on it.
I hope you enjoyed watching us grow from high school sweethearts to being engaged!
